Deficiency of vitamin C causes gum disease
Vitamin C also helps in tissue regeneration at site of injury. Fruits like lemon, oranges, grapes, kiwi, mango, broccoli and cabbage and milk are rich natural sources of vitamin C.
Clove Oil
It is of the most effective treatment to gum related diseases specially when associated with decayed teeth. Rub the gums with clove oil or just chew a piece of clove.
Gargling with Salt
Salt is almost always there in any kitchen. Just take some lukewarm water and add a little bit of salt and gargle three times a day.
Gargle with Triphala
Make a combination of triphala (amla, hidda and behra-easily available at the grocer) and water and gargle twice or thrice daily.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is anti-bacterial which kills the harmful bacteria in mouth. Add 1 to 2 drops of tea tree oil into lukewarm water and swish around after brushing your teeth.
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil is rich in anti-inflammatory properties and anti-oxidants. Use as a gargle daily for reducing swelling of gums.
Black Seed Oil
Black Seed Oil also can be used as a good anti bacterial rinse.
Honey and garlic
Honey is sweet, yet it is beneficial for gums because of its anti-bacterial properties. It is also rich in minerals and vitamins and provides the necessary nutrients for maintaining healthy gums. A blend of honey and garlic juice also works wonders.
Alum
Dissolve some alum in warm water and gargle with the solution to reduce gum inflammation. Repeat three times a day. Some people also add alum to drinking water for its purifying and anti inflammatory properties.
Use Aloe Vera
It is very useful against any kind of inflammation. It destroys bacteria responsible for gingivitis and gives a cooling and soothing effect to the gums. Massage the aloe Vera gel into the gums.
